Roselle Ungar of New Orleans, Louisiana is a former National Vice President and is a member of the National Board of Hadassah. She currently serves as Development Division Coordinator. Roselle most recently served as the Co-Chair for the 2014 National Convention in Las Vegas.
Roselle has held many portfolios within Hadassah including: Chair of the Southeast Area Development Center, Assistant Coordinator for the Southern United Network (SUN) Co-op, Co-Chair of the Southern United Network (SUN) Co-op Conference, NYLAC – National Young Leaders Advisory Council Representative, Southern Region President, Lev Hadarom Young Judaea Youth Commission Chair, President of the New Orleans Chapter and Treasurer for Camp Judaea in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Roselle is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and a graduate of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Faculty Training Academy. Roselle serves on the board of the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Roselle was named the 2002 Woman of Valor for the New Orleans Chapter of Hadassah. She also received the Hadassah National Leadership Award in 1994 and the Southern Region Woman of the Year Award in 1989.
Her involvement in other Jewish organizations has included: President of Jewish Family Service of New Orleans, President of Congregation Beth Israel, Board Member of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, Board Member of Woldenberg Living Center – Jewish Home for the Aged; the Women’s Division State of Israel Bonds, Hillel and her synagogue. Roselle has also been involved in the Crohns & Colitis Foundation, the Young Leadership Council, Cancer Crusaders and the Louisiana State Museum.
Roselle is the owner of Strategic Nonprofit Consulting, LLC focusing on fundraising and board development with nonprofits across the United States. She and her husband Stanley are also co-owners of Stanley Jewelers.
During her professional career she served as Director of Community and Philanthropic Affairs for Crescent Bank & Trust, Assistant Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, a Registered Nurse and as the Director of Special Projects for the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. In that position, Roselle recruited and supervised 7,000 volunteers for the activities related to Super Bowl XXXI. Roselle has been involved in volunteerism since her high school years when she was president of her synagogue youth group.
Roselle was born in New Orleans. She graduated from Ecole Classique High School, attended the University of Denver and later graduated from Touro Infirmary School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
Roselle has been to Israel eighteen times. The Ungars are Circle of Founders donors to Young Judaea and the Center for Emergency Medicine at Hadassah Hospital.They are a five-generation Life Member family and a five-generation Associate family.
