Renee Resnik
Member, National Honorary Council
Renee Resnik of Columbus, Ohio, is a member of the National Honorary Council having served as an elected member of the National Board for 15 years.
Renee is a past National Vice President, past President of the Central States Region and previously served as the first National Chair of the Hadassah Leadership Academy and as the National Chair of the Strategic Planning Department. She has served on a wide variety of committees dealing with structure and governance as well as in the area of leadership training and volunteer development. Renee was responsible for brining Hadassah’s on-line training program, Breeze to the organization, served as the chair of on-line training for three years and continues to serve as an on-line trainer for Hadassah.
In addition to her volunteer work for Hadassah, Renee served as the President of Congregation Tifereth Israel Sisterhood. She is a founding member of the Children of Holocaust Survivors Chapter in Columbus and was appointed by then Governor Richard Celeste to participate in the 1986 Governor’s Council for Holocaust Education. Renee helped to develop a Holocaust curriculum, titled, Prejudice Unleashed, that is currently being used in the Ohio public schools, grades 5-12.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Renee attended Ohio State University and earned a Bachelors degree in Social Work. A Jewish Communal professional, Renee served as the Human Resource Development Director for the Columbus Jewish Federation as well as on the Professional Advisory Council of the Council of Jewish Federations. Renee received a Masters degree in Human Resource Development and Adult Education from the Ohio State University in 1999. Renee currently serves as an independent organizational development and personnel training consultant for non-profit organizations.
Renee, a Life Member, has traveled to Israel 13 times beginning on her honeymoon in 1973. In 1984, Renee participated in a Hadassah Young Leaders Mission for which she credits her long-standing involvement in the organization.
Renee’s husband, Marvin, a Hadassah Associate, is a corporate attorney for the American Electric Power Service Corporation. They has three children: Jennifer, a Life Member and her husband Brian and son Neal, a Hadassah Associate as well as two grand daughters, Allison and Molly, both life members.
